Baths: Healthier than the Shower?
Okay, so we've always been big bath fans over here at Midnight Paloma. And the mental benefits seem pretty obvious: relaxation, time for yourself and a break for everyday life. But there are some major physical benefits too. So you can feel less guilty indulging in that lengthy dip, when in reality you're just being super healthy. Hey even Joe Rogan is into a nightly bath! Infusing your bath with some other ingredients is key for a health boost. We love epsom salt, sea salt and of course a good essential oil blend. Our bath soaks have all of those and more. Check out some of our favourite bath benefits below 👇
Bathing is great for your mind & could help you get a better nights sleep. 💤
Making a simple night time ritual and routine out of bathing after a long day has proven results for better sleep. It can also help immensely with mental fatigue. Submergence in water can calm the nervous system, reducing the levels of stress and anxiety in the body and improving your mood. Sharper mind = better you.
Boost your immunity while you relax. ➕
Love the heat of a bath on your body? You should! Taking a hot bath kills bacteria and improves blood flow. Taking deep, slow breaths aids oxygen throughout your respiratory system. Especially good for relieving symptoms of cold and flu. Elevating your body temperature with a hot bath can actually boosts your bodies ability to fight infections.
Bathing moisturizes your skin & hair 👩🏽🦱
We all know the human body is mostly made of water. Drinking 8 glasses a day is a priority on most peoples lists, but did you know exposing your body to the water from a bath is a great way to ensure hydration throughout the body. Having extra ingredient benefits will help as well such as rose petals & rolled oats.
Heart Health & the Bath 🧡
Taking a warm bath will make your heart beat faster and give it a gentle, healthy workout. Improving circulation around the body and encourages the vessels to function better.
Bathing may have similar effects on your body as exercise. 💪🏻
Okay, obviously this will never replace your workout. (Keep dreaming!) But it can have similar effects on your body afterwards due to the rise in body temperature. Heat gets your blood moving and can also help regulate blood sugar. Epsom salts in a warm bath reduce inflammation in your joints and sea salt has a proven affect on the body as well.
