Christopher Kape
Christopher Kape is a serial entrepreneur, investor and devoted philanthropist living and working in Vancouver, British Columbia and serves as a director of Midnight Paloma.
Outside of his work at Midnight Paloma, Chris leads JAMCO Capital, an early-stage venture capital and business consulting firm focusing on a number of industries, including gaming, high tech and wellness. JAMCO Capital was founded in 2001 and since that time, Chris and his team have provided equity and services to more than 25 companies.
From its inception, JAMCO Capital has benefitted from strong returns as a result of betting on businesses with great potential and - most important - smart management. JAMCO Capital is now well-regarded for its expertise in a range of industries and has been able to complete several significant exits over the last few years, including Don Best Sports, Rapid Tote and Revols.
As someone who values service work, Chris has organized and traveled to over 45 countries, including rural Uganda where he promoted literacy with The Walking School Bus, an organization whose mission is to empower students in developing countries to access education. He is also a board member and treasurer of Learning Buddies Network, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping struggling young children at inner-city elementary schools develop essential literacy and math skills through free, one-on-one, after school tutoring programs. Chris also volunteered in Rajasthan, India on behalf of Metowe, an organization that creates employment and economic empowerment for over 2,000 people in WE Village communities around the world. Some of Christopher Kape’s other volunteer work includes Food Not Bombs in Sophia, Bulgaria, St. George’s School Convenor in Vancouver, Canada, Friends of Puerto Vallarta Animals in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico Thank Dog I’m Out in Vancouver, Canada and Lifting Hands International in San Jose, Costa Rica.
In his free time, Chris enjoys staying active and is an avid runner and biker. He has completed a number of Ride to Conquer Cancer events, GranFondo Biking events, marathons and half. He also volunteers at his children’s schools and sports teams.
Chris Kape is a University of Western Ontario graduate, having earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Administrative and Commercial Studies as well as a Concordia University graduate, where he earned Masters in Business Administration.
